The results of tests carried out on samples taken from a chicken in the village of Mogila near Bitola are negative and it can be said that there is no bird flu in Macedonia, but the danger still exists, Cokrevski said.
According to the latest instructions from the European Union, the situation on the ground will be monitored regularly due to the appearance of the bird flu virus in the region and wild migratory birds which could spread the virus to Macedonia.
Cokrevski said that all relevant world organisations had been informed about the findings and expressed hope that the ban on the export of poultry and eggs from Macedonia would be lifted soon.
