ZAGREB, Oct 21 (Hina) - A team of employees of the US Marshals Service has held a seminar in Samobor, outside Zagreb, over the last five days to acquaint Croatian police officers and state attorneys with their experience and knowledge in the hunt for fugitives, which will be used in catching runaway Croatian general Ante Gotovina.

The things we have learned will definitely be used by the team in charge of tracking down the runaway general, the head of the Interior Ministry's crime police department, Zeljko Cvrtila, said on Friday.

The US team would not comment on the Gotovina case or say if the experience and knowledge they relayed to the participants in the seminar would help catch Gotovina, a general indicted by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague who has been on the run for years.

Cvrtila said that the team trying to locate Gotovina had already applied many of the methods presented at the seminar.

The five-day seminar was organised by the US Embassy and was attended by some 40 Croatian police officers, mostly senior inspectors and experts on terrorism, and state attorneys. The event ended today with the presentation of diplomas.
