The purpose of the military exercise is to show the capacity and conditions of this military range.
Congratulating the participants in the manoeuvre, President Mesic said that in the last ten years much had been done in the transformation of the national defence system and that further steps depended on financial means.
Minister Roncevic said the military ranges in Gasinci and Slunj were very prosperous.
Asked by reporters to comment on a statement by the U.S. Ambassador to Croatia, Ralph Frank, that Croatia had so far met only 11 out of the 49 requirements from the Membership Action Plan for the country's entry into NATO, Roncevic said he would not argue with Ambassador Frank but that an expert team of NATO had other figures.
