ZAGREB, Oct 10 (Hina) - Croatia's credit rating for October has remained unchanged, DB4d, which stands for moderate investment risk, the credit rating agency Dun&Bradstreet has said in a report.

The report, carried by the Zagreb firm BonLine on Monday, focuses on macroeconomic indicators, placing emphasis on the growth of industrial production and retail sales, a drop in unemployment and a rise in inflation, all in the context of a mild growth of GDP.

Given that Croatia's monetary policy is aimed at lowering the growth rate of household loans, the forecast on the growth of personal consumption is partly based on positive labour market indicators.

The announced lowering of the VAT rate for tourist services from 22 to 10 percent would make Croatia more competitive in relation to its Mediterranean rivals, although it would have a negative effect on the state budget, reads the report.

Of the 25 monitored countries, Croatia ranks 11th, the only one with the rating of DB4d. It is preceded by Bulgaria and Romania with DB4c.

The list is headed by Slovenia, with DB2c, which stands for low investment risk. At the bottom of the list are five countries with very high investment risk (DB6d) - Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
