The event is dedicated to the importance of business processes for the economy, the state and science, the management of business processes in the economy, modernisation and business processes in the state administration and judiciary, and methods and tools for modelling and measuring the efficiency of business processes.
Opening the conference, the Economy Ministry's state secretary for the economy, Vladimir Vrankovic, said Croatian companies that were introducing new technologies also had to introduce new business processes, otherwise they would not be competitive. Croatian companies have changed from the vertical to horizontal management, which means greater business and efficiency dynamics, he said.
In an address published in supporting materials for the conference, Economy Minister Branko Vukelic said the adoption of a new approach to business processes was reflected in the establishment of a new model of operation in the public sector, which includes rationalisation of business processes and introduction of 'mobile servants' in the state administration and judiciary.
Vukelic also pointed to the HITRO.hr project which is aimed at speeding up the issuing of various permits to entrepreneurs and citizens.
