Messages of congratulation were sent by the mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandic, the Independent Croatian Trade Unions (NHS), and a local organisation for environmental protection from Osijek called the Osijek Greens.
The Association of Anti-Fascist Fighters of Croatia sent messages of congratulation to President Mesic, PM Sanader, Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks and the Social Democratic Party leader and chairman of the national committee in charge of monitoring membership talks, Ivica Racan.
