On that occasion, the prior of the monastery, Kristijan Raic, thanked everybody who raised funds for this purpose, primarily the Swiss government which donated 250,000 kuna, the Norwegian government which donated 100,000 kuna and the Croatian Culture Minister for its donation of 200,000 kuna.
About two million kuna had to be ensured for reconstruction works, which lasted two years.
The library, which was established in the end of the 15th century, is famous for medieval manuscripts and 240 incunabula.
Present at today's ceremony were Swiss and Norwegian ambassadors to Croati, Marcus Kaiser and Knut Toraasen.
