ZAGREB, Sept 21 (Hina) - Three Croatian investigators on Wednesday left the country for Greece, where they are expected to interview runaway Croatian businessman Hrvoje Petrac, sources at the State Prosecutor's Office said.

Officials at the State Prosecutor's Office confirmed for Hina this evening that three investigators left the country for Greece, but they did not reveal when the investigators would talk to Petrac or any other details about the interview.

One of Petrac's attorneys, Marijan Pedisic, said that they had not received any official information as to when the investigators would talk to Petrac, although the interview had been announced for the beginning of this week.

Petrac's attorneys previously confirmed that their client was willing to talk to both Croatian investigators and investigators of the Hague war crimes tribunal in the Greek prison where he is detained, but only in the presence of his attorneys and after all technical conditions were met.

The attorneys claim that they have not been informed what the Hague tribunal's investigators wanted to talk to Petrac about, but they believe that they want to discuss his alleged involvement in financing the hiding of tribunal indictee Ante Gotovina.

Hague investigators last Thursday visited Petrac, who is being held in extradition custody in the Greek city of Ioanna, but he told them he wanted his attorneys to be present.

Croatian investigators were to have interviewed Petrac by the beginning of this week at the latest, after Croatian authorities obtained the approval of Greek authorities.

Attorney Pedisic, however, told Hina that they had not been officially informed about the interview or when it was due to take place.

Petrac is believed to be an important link in the chain of helpers of the runaway Croatian general Ante Gotovina, which has been confirmed in statements by the highest state officials.

Petrac was arrested in Greece on August 31 on an international arrest warrant after he was sentenced by a Croatian court to six years in prison pending appeal for his role in the kidnapping of General Vladimir Zagorac's teenage son in February 2004.
