Speaking to reporters after meeting Mayor Tomislav Sota, Veer said that his government would send a ferry to restore a cross-border ferry service on the Danube between Vukovar and the town of Vajska in the Vojvodina region of northwestern Serbia.
The ferry, worth between 500,000 and one million euros, will be brought in parts and will be assembled in one of the Croatian shipyards, the ambassador said.
Sota said the ferry service could resume next spring.
The Dutch ambassador also met the head of Vukovar County, Bozo Galic.
