The internal control unit will check the authenticity of Hodzic's claims and establish if any other unlawful acts were committed.
A former inmate of Serb concentration camps and war veteran with 70-percent disability, Hodzic accused police from the 1st police station in Osijek of bringing him in without a court warrant and of asking him to sign a blank paper regarding allegations against local politician Branimir Glavas.
Hodzic said that three people in civilian clothing had visited him on the night between last Wednesday and Thursday, requesting that he go to the police station for questioning, without allowing him to contact an attorney.
The head of the county police department, Vladimir Faber, dismissed Hodzic's claims as false.
