BENKOVAC/VUKOVAR, Aug 6 (Hina) - A graffiti calling for the life of Croatian Serb official Milorad Pupovac was written on a building in the main street of Benkovac, southern Croatia, on Saturday and was removed by municipal workers.

Local police are looking for the perpetrator, while Mayor Branko Kutija condemned the incident.

The Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS), of which Pupovac is a member, condemned this incident as well as yesterday's anti-Serb graffiti in the eastern town of Sotin.

Spokesman Boro Rkman urged the police to find the perpetrator, saying that unlike the graffiti in Sotin, "which called for religious and national intolerance, the one in Benkovac calls for murdering someone".

Rkman called for a reaction from the interior and justice ministries, as well as from parliament, because Pupovac, the president of the Serb People's Council and SDSS vice president, is also a member of parliament.

County police discovered that the graffiti in Sotin was written by a minor who will be prosecuted.
