SARAJEVO, July 31 (Hina) - US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Douglas McElhaney told reporters in Sarajevo on Saturday the US government welcomes everything that will lead to Bosnian Serb war crimes indictee Radovan Karadzic being brought to justice.

Underlining that he was speaking on behalf of the United States government, McElhaney said he felt Karadzic's wife pleaded with her husband to surrender to the Hague war crimes tribunal for family reasons, as she herself said in the plea.

The ambassador said his country paid special attention to comments by Bosnian Serb leaders and Serbian President Boris Tadic on Ljiljana Karadzic's plea to her husband.

McElhaney reminded the authorities in Banja Luka and Belgrade that the US was counting on their cooperation. We will get Karadzic, he said, underlining that Karadzic, Bosnian Serb wartime military leader Ratko Mladic, and Croatian general Ante Gotovina, all fugitive Hague tribunal indictees, must be arrested.
