The CCEE Presidency convened in Zagreb for the past few days and considered the current situation in the European unification process in light of the recent terror attacks in London and the rejection of the European Constitution in France and the Netherlands.
The presidency also sent a letter to the pope.
In attendance were Monsignor Amedee Grab, president of the CCEE and of the Swiss Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Josip Bozanic, president of the Croatian Bishops' Conference (HBK), Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor, vice president of the CCEE and president of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, Monsignor Aldo Giordano, CCEE secretary-general, Monsignor Andrew Summersgill, secretary-general of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, and Monsignor Vjekoslav Huzjak, secretary-general the HBK.
