THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, July 20 (Hina) - The Hague-based International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Wednesday granted motions for provisional release for Bosnian Serb generals Radivoje Miletic and Milan Gvero and former interior minister Mico Stanisic.

The trial chamber in the case stated in three separate decisions that the accused had sufficiently demonstrated that they would appear for trial and would not pose a danger to any victim, witness or other person if released.

General Miletic, former deputy to Bosnian Serb wartime military commander Ratko Mladic, and Gvero, Mladic's aide for morale and religious affairs, are charged with crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war that were committed against the Muslim population of Srebrenica and Zepa in eastern Bosnia.

Stanisic was charged as one of the key organisers of an ethnic cleansing campaign against Muslims and Croats in what is today Republika Srpska, the Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina, as part of a "joint criminal enterprise" by Serb leaders aimed at creating a single Serb state.
