A total of 396 authors from 44 countries sent 756 cartoons and the jury chose the best cartoons, awarding the gold medal to Ronaldo Cunha Dias of Brazil, the silver medal to Ahmet Ozturklevent of Turkey and the bronze to Hou Xiaoqiang of China.
