NEW YORK, June 13 (Hina) - Croatia recognises and acknowledges the need to fully cooperate with the Hague war crimes tribunal, the Charge d'Affaires at the Croatian Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Ivan Nimac, told the UN Security Council on Monday.

Nimac was speaking during a debate that followed reports presented by Hague Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte and Tribunal President Theodor Meron.

Britain's Ambassador to the UN, Emyr Jones Parry, welcomed the Croatian government's action plan aimed at locating and arresting fugitive general Ante Gotovina, who is wanted by the tribunal, but noted that the plan in itself was not enough.

We expect the Croatian authorities to take resolute action to ensure that Gotovina is transferred to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague, Perry said.

Croatia will be judged according to the concrete results of action, the British representative added.

Nimac said he was pleased that in her report del Ponte had confirmed Croatia's commitment to continue implementing the action plan.

He said that full cooperation with the ICTY was Croatia's priority because the tribunal's work had positive effects on the stability of Southeast Europe and inter-ethnic reconciliation in the region.
