ZAGREB, June 10 (Hina) - Stjepan Seselj and Domagoj Margetic, director and former editor-in-chief of the "Hrvatsko slovo" paper, indicted by the Hague war crimes tribunal for contempt of court, were handed summons to appear before the tribunal on June 14 at the Zagreb County Court on Friday.

Seselj and Margetic would not give any comment while leaving the court building.

Seselj's attorney Zeljko Olujic told Hina his client would respect the summons and appear before the UN tribunal to enter a plea of not guilty.

Margetic's attorney Zeljko Dumancic said his client was ready to appear before the tribunal to enter a not guilty plea, but that his passport had been confiscated earlier and he had no money to cover his travel costs.

Margetic said on Thursday that his passport had been confiscated in 2002 because he published some other secret documents in "Hrvatsko slovo" and that he did not know if he would be given back the passport to travel to The Hague.

The Hague tribunal will cover the travel costs of the accused and it will also cover the costs of their defence if they prove that they do not have money, a senior Croatian government official told Hina on Thursday. Asked about Margetic's problem with his passport, the same source said that Margetic would probably be given back his passport for the purpose of travelling to The Hague.

Stjepan Seselj, publisher of "Hrvatsko slovo", and Domagoj Margetic, the paper's former editor-in-chief, were indicted on April 26, 2005, for publishing the identity of a protected witness and parts of the transcript of his testimony in the trial of Tihomir Blaskic on March 16, 1998. Two other Croatians charged with contempt of court are expected to appear before the UN tribunal on June 16 as well. Those are the editor-in-chief of the "Hrvatsko slovo" office from Zadar, Ivica Marijacic, and a collaborator of the paper, Markica Rebic, a former intelligence chief and presidential advisor on national security.

Marijacic and Rebic are charged with publishing the identity of another protected witness and the transcript of his testimony in the trial of Tihomir Blaskic on December 19, 1997.
