THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, June 9 (Hina) - The Hague-based International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) has summoned Stjepan Seselj and Domagoj Margetic, director and former editor in chief of the Croatian weekly "Hrvatsko slovo" respectively, to appear before judges on June 14 to answer contempt of court charges for publishing the testimony of a protected witness.

According to the schedule that I have, the initial appearance of Stjepan Seselj and Domagoj Margetic has been set for Tuesday, June 14, at 2.15 p.m., ICTY spokesman Jim Landale told Hina by telephone from The Hague on Thursday.

On the same day at 10 a.m., the editor in chief of the Zadar-based "Hrvatski list" newspaper, Ivica Marijacic, and associate writer Markica Rebic, who previously served as an intelligence officer and presidential national security adviser, are scheduled to appear before judges to plead to contempt of court charges for publishing the testimony of another protected witness.

Seselj and Margetic were charged on April 26, 2005 for publishing the identity and extracts from the transcript of the testimony a protected witness given on March 16, 1998 during the trial of Bosnian Croat commander Tihomir Blaskic.

Marijacic and Rebic have been charged with contempt of court because in the November 18, 2004 issue of "Hrvatski list" they revealed the identity of another protected witness and published the transcript of his testimony given in closed session during the Blaskic trial on December 19, 1997.

According to the ICTY Rules of Procedure and Evidence, if found guilty, the accused face up to seven years in prison or a fine of up to 100,000 euros or a combination of both.
