STUTTGART, June 7 (Hina) - Baden-Wuerttemberg Minister President Guenther Oettinger, who on Tuesday received Croatian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks, said that citizens as well as the political leadership of this German state saw Croatia as a country that would soon be admitted and fully integrated into the European Union.

"After the referendums in France and the Netherlands (which rejected the EU Constitution) we shall not be discouraged and we shall not give up from further EU enlargement, but we shall proceed at the current pace," Oettinger said during his talks with Sabor Speaker Seks.

Oettinger spoke about the firm connections between Baden-Wuerttemberg and Croatia, adding that the every 100th citizen of this German state was of Croatian origin.

Seks told his host he hoped that Croatia, with the support of Baden-Wuerttenberg, would accelerate its admission to the EU.

The Croatian Parliament Speaker said that during his two-day visit to Baden-Wuerttemberg, his hosts and he had agreed on the continuation of bilateral cooperation, notably in the economic sector.

The meeting with the Baden-Wuerttemberg premier marked the end of the official visit of the Sabor Speaker to this German state. Seks on Tuesday evening met with representatives of the Croatian community in Baden- Wuerttemberg.
