ZAGREB, June 7 (Hina) - Attorney Zeljko Olujic's office in Zagreb was broken into on Monday night by unknown perpetrators who ransacked some files and smashed three computer screens, Zagreb police said on Tuesday, adding that for the time being it was unknown if anything was stolen.

Olujic represents three Hague war crimes tribunal indictees, Mirko Norac, Ivica Rajic and Stjepan Seselj. Zegreb police chief Krunoslav Borovec said the police were informed of the incident at 8 am and that it was unknown if the motive for the break-in was theft or if it was related to one of Olujic's files.

Asked by the press what the police would do, given that this was yet another break-in into the offices of lawyers engaged at the Hague tribunal, Borovec said the police were taking measures as for all other break-ins.

Olujic told Hina he did not know yet if something was missing, but said it was yet another targeted break-in into the offices of attorneys representing Hague tribunal indictees. He said it was telling that the burglars did not steal technical equipment or paintings but did thoroughly check the Norac and Rajic files.

He said there were traces in the stove in the office indicating that the burglars might have burned some documents. He added that a picture of Ante Gotovina, who is wanted by the Hague tribunal, was taken out of its frame and had "Death" written over it in a black marker.

Olujic informed the UN court about the break-in.

In late December 2000, unknown perpetrators broke into the Zagreb offices of Ante Nobilo, who was representing Tihimir Blaskic before the Hague tribunal, and stole money and computer discs.

Tomislav Jonjic's office was broken into in late February 2005 and 35 CD-Roms with documents about the cases of ICTY indictees, Pasko Ljubicic and Valentin Coric, were stolen.

The office of Gotovina's five attorneys was broken into in November 2002, when technical equipment was stolen. This is the only case the police have solved to date. The perpetrators' motive was material gain.
