It is absolutely possible for Croatia to be invited to join at the next NATO summit, the news agency quoted him as saying after meeting Croatian Defence Minister Berislav Roncevic in Vilnius.
The date or location of the summit have not been chosen yet, but according to sources from Brussels it is likely to take place in late 2006 or early 2007.
According to a Croatian Defence Ministry press release, Roncevic and Kirkilas discussed bilateral military cooperation and the situation in Southeast Europe, where Lithuania sees Croatia as a factor of stability.
The two ministers signed an agreement on cooperation in defence, which binds Lithuania to help Croatia in its efforts to join NATO.
We are willing to share our experience with Croatia and help it, which includes training officers at the Baltic Military Academy, Kirkilas said.
