Grabar Kitarovic was speaking on the subject of "Croatia in the Global World" at a business symposium organised by the United States Chamber of Commerce in Croatia.
In order to achieve this goal, the government today opened a one stop shop where business people will be able to obtain all the necessary permits to start up a business, the minister said.
Croatian companies can do a lot for Croatia by lobbying and by establishing special business relations and their presence in other countries, she added.
Throughout its history, Croatia has always been open to new ideas and has been involved in political, social, economic, cultural and other processes in Europe and the world. After gaining independence, Croatia became a member of all important international organisations, and through its participation in these organisations and in the anti-terrorist coalition and UN peacekeeping missions it has proved that it is an active member of the international community, the minister said.
Grabar Kitarovic pointed out that Croatia's strategic foreign policy goal was to join the European Union and NATO.
The US Chamber of Commerce in Croatia was established in order to assist US and foreign business people who want to invest in Croatia and Croats doing business with foreign companies. One of its main objectives is to establish and maintain close communication among foreign investors already operating in Croatia and among those who want to invest in the country.
