Bozanic, said on Saturday night that the Catholic Church in Croatia and the entire Croatian people felt gratefulness for the gift of John Paul II.
"... The news (of the pope's death) has saddened us, but it has unveiled even more the mystery of man. We deeply believe that Jesus Christ has now led his governor on earth, who advocated him with so much love, into the home of His Father," Bozanic said in his statement to the Catholic information agency IKA.
"In this moment, we feel deep gratitude for the gift of Pope John Paul II. This gratitude is particularly felt by the Catholic Church in Croatia and the entire Croatian people. We pray for the Lord of life and death to give his soul rest," the statement read.
