Skare-Ozbolt, who was prevented from attending a press conference organised by her party's branch in Karlovac on Friday, answered reporters' questions over the speaker-phone.
Skare-Ozbolt said that accusations made by Croatian intelligence services against the Hague-based UN war crimes tribunal's investigators labelling them as spies were "detrimental to Croatia".
The prosecution of the UN tribunal is doing its job and when the time comes "the defence (of indictees) will do its job," she said.
Asked whether she was sharing President Stjepan Mesic's optimism about the start of Croatia's European Union membership talks on 17 March, Skare-Ozbolt said that "a postponement would be unjust and unfair towards Croatia in light of the fact that all authorities are engaged in locating Gotovina and because of everything Croatia has done so far and what it is going to do in its efforts to enter the European Union," she said.
