ZAGREB, Feb 23 (Hina) - The president of the Spanish Olympic
Committee, Jose Maria Echevarria, who is the first vice-president of the
committee organising the Mediterranean Games in Almeria, presented the project
of the Mediterranean Games in Zagreb on Wednesday.Fifty years after the Mediterranean Games in Barcelona, Almeria is the
second Spanish city to host this event, said Echevarria, whose Zagreb host was
the president of the Croatian Olympic Committee, Zlatko Matesa.
Almeria is a city with 180,000 inhabitants and is located in the
southern province of Andalusia. The 15th Mediterranean Games, to be held from
24 June to 3 July, will be attended by more than 4,000 athletes, including some
170 from Croatia.
