Obradovic was speaking at the launch of a book on human rights, organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
Obradovic said that one of the political criteria for European Union membership was respect for and the protection of human rights, and that Croatia had initiated the process of legislative and institutional reform in order to adjust its legislation to that of the EU.
She said that Croatia had adopted a number of laws, policies and strategies regarding human rights protection, including those relating to minority rights protection, child and family rights protection, and gender equality.
Obradovic said that the public ombudsman, the children's ombudsman, the ombudsman for gender equality, and the Human Rights Protection Office played an important role in human rights protection in Croatia.
Obradovic pointed out that all the human rights protection processes in Croatia were adjusted to the highest international standards.
