Commenting on the talks he held today with his host Ferenc Gyurcsanj, Hungarian President Ferenc Madl and Parliament Speaker Katalin Szili, Sanader said he was more than satisfied.
Hungary reiterated it saw Croatia as part of the EU and added that a postponement of Croatia's negotiations with the EU might be unjustified should Croatia prove that it was fully meeting the required criteria, Sanader said.
The Croatian PM is convinced the majority of the EU countries share Hungary's standpoint.
Asked to comment on the scandal about the tapping of Croatian reporters' phones over their alleged cooperation with foreign intelligence agencies, the PM said he had no special comment.
"It is important that if there is a doubt it should be removed and everything must be done transparently," Sanader said.
Croatia is definitely a democratic country which accepts progressive standpoints of the EU and it will most definitely act accordingly in this case, the PM said.
