ZAGREB, Feb 4 (Hina) - The clubs of deputies of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) and the Croatian People's Party (HNS) asked the parliament on Friday to oblige the government to submit laws within three months which will enable the state to be compensated for the losses it suffered during the ownership transformation and privatisation processes and annul the processes conducted unlawfully.

The request was presented by Mato Arlovic of the SDP at the end of today's parliamentary debate on audit results in the transformation and privatisation processes.

The three parties also asked the government to draw up a new privatisation bill which would regulate the establishment of the workers' share holding in the cases stipulated by the law,

MPs did not discuss the findings of the auditing authorities or the request of the three Opposition party, but decided that parties hold consultations on the issue.

Parliament today set up a commission in charge of establishing facts about the business dealings of state-owned companies and companied owned by some state officials, namely Radimir Cacic of the HNS and Zlatko Tomcic of the HSS.

Members of the commission, the establishment of which was moved by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), will be appointed next week, Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks said.

The parliamentary majority opposed the establishment of a commission which would establish the way Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and resigning minister Miomir Zuzul acquired their property and whether the two respected laws and moral standards while gaining it.

The establishment of the commission of inquiry was moved by the HNS parliamentary bench.

MPs greenlighted this year's plan on the adjustment of Croatia's legislation to EU standards and the annual National Programme of Association with the EU.

Deputies supported a bill on the ratification of the memorandum on military cooperation with the United States in first reading.

Parliament ended this week's session with the voting on the discussed issues. It will resume its 12th session on Wednesday.
