The ceremony of appointment of the foundation's new ambassadors from all over the world was conducted by Prince Joakim, the younger son of Queen Margarethe II.

Speaking about Bresan, he said that his films were narrative master-pieces, for which he was credited at the Berlin Film Festival.
Croatia's Ambassador to Copenhagen, Ana Marija Besker, said that with Leskovar's and Bresan's appointment Croatia had joined the great cultural project "H. C. Andersen 2005", which is aimed at promoting the work of this great writer and poet on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his birth.
One of the goals of the campaign is the fight against illiteracy in the world.
