Kosor said talks were under way on who might succeed her at the post of Minister of War Veterans' and Family Affairs and Inter-Generational Solidarity if she won the presidential elections. She said that her successor should be a person who would continue what she had done so far, following the same principles.
Answering reporters' questions, she said that no consultations had been held yet on her successor at the post of Deputy Prime Minister.
She said that she had commented on Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul's resignation yesterday and that she also said that Deputy Prime Minister Andrija Hebrang, who is also Health Minister, would issue a statement on his condition and his future plans after a recent operation in Austria.
Asked about support by ethnic minorities to her presidential candidacy in light of the fact that ethnic Serb and Bosniak representatives have openly supported President Stjepan Mesic, Kosor said that it was their autonomous decision, adding that she was expecting support of the majority of voters and an election victory.
The leader of the War Veterans' Party, Zeljko Galekovic, a representative of an association gathering the widows and children of soldiers killed in the war, Vjekoslava Garesin, and the leader of the HVIDRA association of disabled war veterans, Josip Djakic, expressed support for Kosor's candidacy in the second election round, set for 16 January.
