ZAGREB, Jan 4 (Hina) - Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and representatives of parliamentary parties will meet on Wednesday for a second round of talks on the start of membership negotiations with the European Union, after which Croatia's chief negotiators are expected to be known.

The meeting will definitely be determined by today's resignation of Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul, which Prime Minister Ivo Sanader accepted.

At the first meeting with representatives of parliamentary parties last week, PM Sanader said the government was willing to reconsider its decision to appoint Zuzul and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic head of the Croatian negotiating team and the chief negotiator respectively.

Zuzul's resignation definitely eliminates some of the questions regarding the head of the negotiating team both for the government and the opposition.

The government and the opposition have agreed that the chief negotiator should be a professional not influenced by political parties or election results.

Tomorrow the two sides are expected to reach an agreement on the 12 chairmen of negotiating teams.

The parliament is expected to establish soon a national committee to follow and supervise negotiations with the EU.
