Croatian Red Cross Committee raises funds for tsunami victims

ZAGREB, Jan 3 (Hina) - Croatia's Red Cross (HCK) said on Monday that sofar it had managed to raise close to 524,000 kuna for the populationof the Bay of Bengal which was hit by a tsunami caused by an extremelystrong earthqauke.
ZAGREB, Jan 3 (Hina) - Croatia's Red Cross (HCK) said on Monday that so far it had managed to raise close to 524,000 kuna for the population of the Bay of Bengal which was hit by a tsunami caused by an extremely strong earthqauke.

The HCK thanks all the citizens who made donations for the tsunami victims.

The Croatian Government last Wednesday decided to allocate four million kuna to tsunami-hit countries: India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Thailand.

Each of the four countries will be given one million kuna, and the financial assistance will be sent via the Croatian Red Cross.
