The charter is part of a project launched by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in cooperation with the Croatian Ministry of War Veterans' Affairs, Family and Inter-Generational Solidarity. By signing the charter, the signatories pledge to provide persons with disabilities with equal access to all public facilities and services.
The Croatian Ombudswoman for People with Disabilities, Anka Slosnjak, today thanked the signatories for their readiness to remove the barriers which disabled people encountered.
Today's signatories are Bakar, Belisce, Cres, Delnice, Donji Miholjac, Drnis, Glina, Hrvatska Kostajnica, Kutina, Novska, Opatija, Otok, Petrinja, Rijeka, Sisak, Sibenik, Valpovo, Vukovar and Zadar, raising the number of Croatian towns and cities that signed this document to 78.
