Buton is planning to walk across the Continent until 2009 in memory of the late British Princess Diana and for campaigns aimed at removal of land mines and for peace in the world.
So far he has walked more that 30,000 kilometres.
This flamboyant Frenchman was received by Rijeka Mayor Vojko Obersnel who supported his action.
During his tour, Buton is collecting signatures of people and local authorities which he is going to send to U.S. President George Bush with a request to stop invest in armament.
Apart from Rijeka, Buton has already visited several other Croatian towns.
