In the country with a population of some four million and the average monthly income slightly above 250 euros per capita, 53 Porsches, including a model which cost over 182,000 euros, have been sold this year.
"The sale has exceeded all our expectations," said Edin Grcic, the chief sales manager for Porsche in Sarajevo.
The success is even greater regarding the fact that these sports cars have been available on the Bosnian market only since September this year.
Managers initially planned to sell about 30 cars of this model until the year's end.
Asked to explain who in Bosnia could be interested in buying Porsches given that the country still has no highways for exploiting all the potentials of such cars, Grcic said clients were mainly entrepreneurs and companies' owners.
In Bosnia, the most sought-after model of Porsche is Carrera, followed by SUV Cayenne.
