Speaking at a Christmas reception given by his party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Sanader reaffirmed the commitment of all members of his government and HDZ members of Parliament to working for the benefit of Croatia and its citizens.
"I'm sure that the culture of dialogue and tolerance is at a much higher level than before and that's what I regard as one of our greatest successes," Sanader said.
"If we all work together on developing a Croatia we want to see and which Croatian citizens expect from us, I am certain we will succeed," he added.
Sanader cited as his government's goals higher living standards, a stronger economy, membership of the EU and NATO, and the continuation of efforts in fostering the culture of dialogue. He noted that the preservation of national identities was a precondition for the united Europe to be "a Europe of peace and prosperity rather than a Europe of wars, as it was in the past."
