Town, Lawrence Patrick Henry, the Catholic news agency IKA quoted a report from the web site of the Catholic weekly "Glas Koncila".
ZAGREB/CAPE TOWN, Dec 1 (Hina) - The Archbishop of Zagreb,
Cardinal Josip Bozanic, who has been on a pastoral visit to the Croat Catholic
community in the South African Republic since November 27, on Friday met the
Archbishop of Cape Town, Lawrence Patrick Henry, the Catholic news agency IKA
quoted a report from the web site of the Catholic weekly "Glas Koncila". Archbishop Henry acquainted Cardinal Bozanic with the history of the Cape
Town archdiocese, founded in the mid 19th century, the numerous problems caused
by the policy of racial segregation and apartheid, and measures taken by the
Catholic Church in education and evangelisation.
The two dignitaries also discussed cooperation between the Council of
European Episcopal Conferences and the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of
Africa and Madagascar.
The Croat community in the South African Republic has some 8,000
members.
