PODGORICA, Nov 15 (Hina) - The head of a regional economic forum for Southeast Europe, Bogic Bogicevic, said at the opening of this event in Milocer near Budva on Wednesday that a difficult, but not impossible path lies ahead of Southeast European countries.

Powerful countries are turning towards the markets of India, China and Pakistan, the countries with a half of the world's population, which is why the countries of this region must cooperate, Bogicevic said at the first day of the event that will also be attended by the presidents of the countries of the region, including Croatia's head of state Stjepan Mesic on Thursday.

The two-day event, organised by the nongovernmental organisation Regional Economic Forum for Southeast Europe, is held under the auspices of Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic. The initiative is aimed at gathering business people, academicians and public figures from Croatia, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.

Montenegrin President Vujanovic will address the participants in the forum on Thursday. Croatian President Mesic, Slovene President Janez Drnovsek, Bosnian President Nebojsa Radmanovic and Bulgarian Vice President Angel Marin will attend the presidential session that will also be held on Thursday.

Mesic will also attend the 14th session of the Igman initiative.
