The conference focused on the challenges of integration of the CEI member-countries' farming sectors with the EU market.
Cobankovic said in his speech at the conference that agriculture should be a common interest of all countries, considering that it is one of the strategic production branches, the Croatian agriculture ministry said in a statement.
In a market-oriented farming sector it is important to find the right balance between a competitive agricultural production and the preservation and promotion of the environment, the Croatian minister said.
Cobankovic stressed the agricultural production must be organised in such a way that would enable producers to fully use their potential and support sustainable development in rural areas. The safety and quality of food is the key factor for the success and the main condition for conquering not only the domestic but also the global market, he said.
