Finance Minister Ivan Suker said that FINA's revenues were declining steadily, the reason being the development of the financial market and reduced payment transactions that were traditionally conducted by FINA and that were being taken over by business banks.
FINA is registering important progress in other business segments, offering new products and services to make up for the reduced revenue from payment transactions, Suker said.
In cooperation with the government FINA has launched the Hitro.hr one-stop-shop project, introduced additional services in electronic business, and increased the sale of commercial services, the minister said, announcing that the agency would establish a cash centre.
Deputies warned about the decreasing revenue of the state-run agency and the need to increase security in its offices in the light of last week's robbery and murders in a FINA office in eastern Croatia.
The ruling HDZ party announced that it would endorse the report and that last year FINA had confirmed that it was a leading company in financial transactions, an inevitable factor in the national economy and the state's leading partner in important national projects.
