ZAGREB, Oct 17 (Hina) - The Speaker of the Croatian Parliament,
Vladimir Seks, on Tuesday received Petra Blaess, a senior consultant with the
Stability Pact for Southeast Europe, to discuss parliamentary cooperation in
the region in the light of the Croatian presidency of the Southeast Europe
Cooperation Process (SEECP), Seks's office said in a press release.
Seks highlighted the potential of the SEECP to become the strongest promoter of
regional cooperation and European integration in this part of Europe.
As SEECP president, next spring Croatia plans to organise a meeting of
heads of parliament of SEECP member states to discuss the operability of the
SEECP and the transformation of the existing structures of regional
cooperation, primarily the Stability Pact, in cooperation with the European
Union.
Blaess said that the SEECP parliamentary meeting would take place at a
very important moment, and expressed hope that the SEECP would successfully
achieve its goals in the forthcoming period.
