Fifty-seven percent of respondents believe that their living standards
will remain unchanged. One-fifth hope for an improvement of living standards, while one-fifth expect their financial status to worsen.
The most pessimistic are residents of the central regions of Lika, Kordun and Banija, northern Croatia and Slavonia.
Comparing price movements in the past year and giving forecasts for next year, 92 percent of respondents said that prices had gone up, while as many as 85 percent said they would continue to grow.
Asked how much money they would spend on durable goods, 46 percent said they would spend as much as last year, while 39 percent planned slightly bigger investments.
Describing the current financial status of their households, 37 percent of respondents said it was difficult, while 15 percent said they were forced to spend their savings or seek loans.
Although the number of households that are forced to spend savings is decreasing, 52 percent of households have financial problems and most of them are from Lika, Kordun, Banovina and Slavonia.
