Speaking to reporters in the northern Croatian Adriatic resort of Rovinj during his visit to the Italian Union, Ranieri said that there was a positive atmosphere in relations between Italy and Croatia.
Furio Radin, a member of the Croatian Parliament and president of the Italian Union, said that given the good relations between the two countries it would be easier in the future to deal with outstanding issues, such as the restitution of property to Italian WWII refugees and the issue of the Croatian Environmental Protection and Fisheries Zone in the Adriatic.
Radin called on Croatian political parties not create tensions regarding the Environmental Protection and Fisheries Zone.
During Ranieri's visit to the Centre for Historical Research in Rovinj, director Giovanni Radossi expressed hope that the Italian Parliament would continue supporting the work of this cultural institution as it had so far.
