Police officials from the Organised Crime and Corruption Division today interviewed Ferdinand Jukic in connection with the statements he had made in a Croatian Television programme, Interior Ministry spokesman Zlatko Mehun told Hina on Saturday.
During his guest appearance on the "Otvoreno" current affairs talk show on Thursday, Jukic claimed he was in possession of documents and bank statements relating to transactions from secret bank accounts intended for Croatia's defence during the 1991-1995 war. He added that he also had a written order saying that weapons should not be sent to Vukovar.
Jukic went on to say that he was a signatory to several hitherto unknown bank accounts used for the purchase of weapons during the international arms embargo, and that he knew about other secret accounts used for the same purpose.
