KARLOVAC, Oct 10 (Hina) - The Karlovac County Court on Tuesday sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment Darko Kresojevic, Djordje Radujkic and Stanko Tomic for an attack on a four-member Croatian police patrol in Budacka Rijeka on 4 August 1991.

Croatian police officers Zlatko Skrlac, Mile Butina, and Joza Milcic were killed and Nikola Rakocija was wounded in the attack. They were the first victims of the Serb rebellion in Karlovac County.

The Karlovac County Court in 1999 sentenced three other Serbs to 20 years' imprisonment for the same crime, while Kresojevic, Radujkic and Tomic were acquitted for lack of evidence. The Supreme Court in 2002 confirmed the sentencing verdicts and quashed the acquittals, ordering a retrial.

Croatia has issued an international warrant for the arrest of the six men, who are on the run.
