After the meetings, the two political parties said in statements that they did not obstruct the process of formation of a new government in the country after the October 3 general election.
The HDZ BiH said in its press release that it advocates the establishment of government at all levels in Bosnia, comprising the same parties.
HDZ BiH leader Dragan Covic was quoted as saying that "it is necessary for legal and legitimate representatives of all three constituent peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina to reach a compromise."
"The majority election legitimacy inside of each constituent people" must be respected in the constitution of the authorities, he added.
Ambassador Stanicic pointed out the importance of a recent joint statement by Croatian President Ivo Josipovic and Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on the state of affairs in Bosnia.
The HDZ 1990 said that its leader Bozo Ljubic expressed satisfaction with the joint statement. He said that the two HDZ parties were doing their utmost to reach agreements with other parties to guarantee the stability and functioning of new authorities in Bosnia.
Later in the day, the bloc led by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) said that other parties could join them in the coming 15 days or they would later establish the government in the federation on their own.
