Finseth and the commander of the Norwegian Coast Guard, Commodore Arild-Ingo Skram, said that the Norwegian coast guard model was most suitable for small countries like Croatia and Norway and offered their assistance to Croatia in organising its coast guard.
Kardum said that Croatia supported the Norwegian model of coast guard because it had proven very efficient and successful.
The two sides agreed that Croatian officers would visit Norwegian Coast Guard ships next year to gain experience and knowledge needed for the surveillance and protection of Croatia's territorial waters.
