ZAGREB, Sept 18 (Hina) - A memorial exhibition of paintings by Oskar Herman (1886-1974) was opened in the Klovicevi Dvori Gallery in Zagreb on Sunday evening, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the painter's birth and the
200th anniversary of the Jewish Municipality Zagreb.
ZAGREB, Sept 18 (Hina) - A memorial exhibition of paintings by
Oskar Herman (1886-1974) was opened in the Klovicevi Dvori Gallery in Zagreb on
Sunday evening, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the painter's
birth and the 200th anniversary of the Jewish Municipality Zagreb.
The exhibition of the work of the Zagreb painter from a prominent Jewish family
includes 340 pieces from all stages of Herman's life - from his earliest work
made in Munich to his last painting made in 1974.
Oskar Herman belongs to the so-called Munich circle of Croatian
paintings.
The event was opened by the president of the Jewish Municipality
Zagreb, Ognjen Kraus. The exhibition will close on 3 December.
