Pirsic claims that the study lacks an assessment of the effect of rock wool production on the environment, with the energy source being coke, which Pirsic said was unacceptable. The study also fails to mention 200 trucks that will transport coke to the plant daily, Pirsic added.
"The new plant, worth 75 million euros, is not only a local problem, but an environmental problem of the entire Istria and Kvarner regions," he said, adding that the authenticity of data submitted by the Danish company was uncertain and that this could be the basis for a proposal to establish if the issued documents were in line with the Croatian constitution.
Pirsic also noted that the study did not envisage a plant purifier, which he said county zoning plans envisaged as a precondition for the issuing of construction permits.
"Unfortunately, investments in Croatia have become a fetish, which is accompanied by the servility of state bodies to foreign investors," Pirsic said.
