According to a press release, issued by the Croatian Economy Ministry, the trade in commodities between Croatia and Turkey has been permanently rising for 10 years.
In this context Vukelic said that Croatia had been registering a strong deficit in this trade, however, the first half of this year saw a decrease in the Croatian deficit.
In the January-June period of 2006, the trade between Croatia and Turkey came to USD152 million, with Croatia importing commodities, worth USD124 million from Turkey.
State Minister Babacan said that there was much room for enhancing the economic cooperation, particularly though prospective investments by Turkish business people in Croatia.
Babacan, who on Monday was received by Finance Minister Ivan Suker, today invited Vukelic to visit Ankara and Istanbul.
